Looking for Some Fall Fun? Why Not Head to One of Ocean City's Many Museums!

As the weather gets colder and colder in our little ocean town, it can sometimes be hard to find something to do, especially if it's one of those rainy fall days. But did you know that there are 14 museums in and around Ocean City, MD?   Museums are the perfect destination for a cold or rainy day, and offer interesting and sometimes even hands-on insight into the history of our corner of the world. Why not take a visit to one of these museums with the whole family?

Art League of Ocean City

The Art League of Ocean City hosts exhibits, events, and classes for the artist and art lover alike. It is a non-profit organization, whose goal is to promote the visual arts in the Ocean City area through scholarships, education, exhibits, community art events, and other programs. Located at 502 94th Street, the Art League is open Tuesday - Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.

Ocean City Life Saving Museum

The Ocean City Life Saving Museum is always a popular OC attraction, housed inside the 1891 U.S. Life-Saving Station. The museum features exhibits such as "The Boardwalk of Yesterday," "Davy Jones' Locker," "Sands of the World," "Surf's Up!" and an exhibit featuring the history of the U.S. Life-Saving Service (the predecessor of our modern-day Coast Guard). There is even an aquarium featuring local marine life! A trip to Ocean City is not complete without visiting the Ocean City Life Saving Museum, located at 813 S. Atlantic Avenue. Operating hours are Memorial Day through Labor day, Tuesday - Sunday 10:00 am to 10:00 pm and Mondays 10:00 am to 5:00 pm; Open daily Labor Day through the end of September, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and daily in the months of May and October, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium

Ripley's Believe It or Not! is truly a one-of-a-kind place. You won't miss the giant Great White thrashing it's tail and protruding from the second floor, and you'll be amazed at all the crazy exhibits inside. From odd art, to shrunken heads, two-headed animals, and more, Ripley's is one experience you won't want to miss. Be sure to take in the Marvelous Mirror Maze, the Impossible Laser Race, and the Candy Factory, too! Ripley's Believe it or Not! Odditorium is located on the Boardwalk at Wicomico St and is open Memorial Day through Labor Day from 9am to 1am, and Labor Day through Memorial Day from 10am to 5pm.
