Personal Home Inventory - Disaster Preparation

One of the most stressful experiences is to have a water or fire disaster in your home. If you have, you know how difficult it can be to deal with your insurance company and all the contractors it will take to get you home back in order.

If you experience a significant water or fire loss in your home you will be required by your insurance company to provide them with a list of all your contents that were destroyed or damaged by the water or fire.

Of course you have this list handy becuase you planned for this event!!!

Do yourself a favor and visit the Insurance Information Institute website and use their FREE on-line Home Inventory to make a list of your contents and update it once a year.

DON'T FORGET to scan your receipts of all big purchases so you can prove your bought them and at the price you paid.
