Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale's summer of babies ends on a high note
The Women’s Center at Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale’s first summer nears an end with two months of record birth counts.
SUNNYVALE, Texas---Roll out the pink and blue baby blankets and knitted booties because 96 babies were born at The Women’s Center at Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale in August. In addition to being special deliveries from the stork and blessings to their families, the babies are among more than 200 born at the hospital since July 1.
TRMC-Sunnyvale’s summer baby boom reached its peak July 31 when the 110th baby was delivered for that month, a record for the hospital’s women’s center. The 96 babies with August birthdays---52 girls and 44 boys---are among the group that accounts for the second-highest number of babies born in a single month. And September started off with a bang, adding eight babies to the count before 4 a.m. Sept. 2.
Before the baby boom, TRMC-Sunnyvale’s monthly record was 84 babies born in May. The Women’s Center opened March 15 and expects to deliver 815 babies this year.
“This has certainly been a summer full of babies for us,” said Julie Martin, TRMC-Sunnyvale’s director of business development. “We are honored so many families in the Sunnyvale area wanted to share their special events with us.”
TRMC-Sunnyvale is in the Dallas area.
