The Elkhorn Inn Theatre, featured on HGTV, Speed Channel, and in the Great Country Inns of America Cookbook, Wonderful West Virginia, and many other publications, is an historic inn on West Virginia's "Coal Heritage Trail" (America's ByWays).

Built in 1922 as the Empire Coal & Coke Company's "Miner's Clubhouse", the newly restored Elkhorn Inn offers bed-and-breakfast lodging in 14 a/c guestrooms decorated with fine art, antiques, and period furnishings, the Inn also provides fine dining by reservation and a venue for special events and corporate meetings, including a copy of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre on our property for fun summer concerts and events. Nestled in the gorgeous mountains of southern WV, we have some of THE best ATV trails in the eastern USA, including the famed "Hatfield-McCoy Trails", SUPERB trout fishing (24" - 32" trout!), and we've been written up in Railfan & Railroad Magazine as "The Best Legal Train-Watching Location in The USA"! Go antiquing, play mountain golf, bird-watch, enjoy fine dining, summer theatre, fall festivals, historic sites, spectacular leaf-peeping, or just loll in front of our fireplace, on our balcony or patio, or soak in one of our antique claw-food bathtubs! The Elkhorn Inn has WiFi, and our Gift Shop features handmade-in-West Virginia gifts, fine art and jewelry, and vintage American quilts!

May 28-30, 2010: Gourmet Railfan Weekend: "Dueling Dining-Car Chefs" with dinners by Rail Historian/Author of "From the Dining Car" and "Dining By Rail" James Porterfield & Chef Dan ($499.00 + tax per couple includes 2 nights lodging at the Inn with Continental Breakfast each morning, the two special multi-course Dining Car dinners, and a late Sunday check-out.
